When the going gets tough...

Eat Malaysian!!! With these 15-16 hour days I've been pulling lately, nothing comforts me better than a taste of home! Even though it's never as good as my mom's, when you're half a world away, half-good is better than none!

So this evening, it was awesome to come home after a long day, take a hot shower and have a hot plate of rice, bok choy and chicken curry *content* :)

Mr. J of course does not partake in my simple pleasure, so I made him a wrap with cherries and olives. Classic example of East meets West in our kitchen. I have been so blessed, my man isn't fussy when it comes to food.

For the record, note to self, Mr. J has been a model husband lately, I never told him but I did notice him picking up a lot after me, keeping stuff clean and neat and not complaining that I don't help cos he understands my long hours. Nothing more sexy than that! ha ha

I'm so proud of you!

Yesterday, Mr. J went for an interview, we didn't really think much about it, it was one of those "It would be nice if we got it, but we understand if we don't as a million other people are being considered". Anyways, Mr. J just called from work and asked me if I were sitting down... my heart dropped to my toes thinking all worst possible things but it was worry for nothing because he got the job! This not only means a considerable raise but also it'll bring him closer to home after this summer!

Congratulations honey! I am SO proud of you and appreciate how hard you work to provide for our little family and our future!

S & J Wedding Part 1 = Morning of wedding

Our wedding day started with me getting up 5.30am to prepare for my awesome stylist, Jayne. I cannot sing enough praises about her because she did a magnificent job. A little pricey but definitely worth every single sen!

My sister, Kamille (maid of honor) and baby brother, Francis(usher/door opener).

Arrival of the groom. Let the bargaining begin! My baby brother 'sold' me for an angpow [red packet] and an I-Pod Touch!

Here comes the groom! Mr J was a bundle of nerves as he absolutely did not know what to expect, he tried to bribe my sisters and brother the day before but everyone were tight-lipped!

Uh oh, first obstacle, my little sister, Amy who is also my bridesmaid.

Our cousin from England, Jackie putting on diapers for Mr J. Note the pacifier!

Mr J and his groomsmen, cousin Liam on the left from UK and on the right is his dad. All were maid to walk down the street sucking on their milk bottles.

One last task, kiss all the girls! In this case, my pretty cousin from Singapore!

Trying to combine traditions, Mr J didn't get to see me but instead, handed me my bouquet. Many people have asked me why the single white rose. Mr J chose it to be such to "symbolise innocence, purity and one-of-a-kind-ness". I thought that was very meaningful and special.

My mother with her bouquet from Mr J
